Price $329. Available in black or white. What does the Ajax IndoorCam do? It watches a room, detects motion with a dedicated hardware PIR sensor and with AI that distinguishes people, pets, and vehicles, and lets you see and speak through the Ajax app. Does it record on its own? No. The IndoorCam has no memory card slot and no built-in storage at all. This is deliberate: if someone takes the camera, they get no footage, because the footage was never inside it. Recording requires either an Ajax NVR, which stores video on a drive in your own building with no subscription, or an Ajax Cloud Storage subscription at $15 per month for 7 days of footage from one device or $28 per month for 30 days. Ajax Cloud Storage is arranged by phone or email with Rivas Technology Group and is not ordered online. Without one of the two, you can watch live video but nothing is saved. Does it need a hub? No. The IndoorCam connects over your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and works on its own. If you have an Ajax Hub, it pairs with it and gains Jeweller and Wings radio as a backup channel, so alarms keep flowing if Wi-Fi drops. Does it have a privacy shutter? No. It does not have a physical lens shutter. It has privacy zones instead: you can mask up to four regions of the frame in software so they are never recorded, and per-user permissions in the Ajax app control who can view live video or the archive at all. By default only the system administrator can see the camera, including the installer. Is it NDAA compliant? Yes. Ajax states IndoorCam is NDAA-compliant with every component sourced from manufacturers approved by the U.S. government. What is the camera? 4MP at 2688 by 1520 with HDR and infrared illumination reaching about 26 feet. Is it for outdoor use? No. IndoorCam is designed for indoor use only and should not be installed in direct sunlight. How is it powered? 12V DC from the included power supply. It does not use PoE and does not need a PoE switch. Does it work with third-party systems? Yes. There is no memory card in this camera. There is no card slot. Whatever it saw is already somewhere else — which is the entire point of putting a camera indoors.
An indoor camera has a problem an outdoor one does not: it is inside, where someone who got in can reach it. A camera with an SD card in it hands them the footage along with the hardware.
The IndoorCam has no card and no slot to put one in. It records to a recorder or to the cloud, and the thing on the shelf is worth exactly nothing to whoever takes it. Wi-Fi means no cable run — and if the Wi-Fi drops, the Ajax Hub picks up the alarms over radio.

Nowhere, until you decide. No card slot means the two options are both deliberate ones — and unlike the outdoor cameras, there is no third "just put a card in it" answer here.

Putting It Up
Plug it into an outlet — the 12V supply is in the box — scan the QR code in the Ajax app, and it is on. No cable run, no PoE switch, no electrician. The swivel mount handles a shelf, a wall, or a ceiling.
Two things worth knowing: it needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi specifically, and it is indoor only — do not put it in direct sunlight, which will cook it. If you get stuck, support is free and open to everyone, installed by us or not.
