Why Ajax Systems?

Why Ajax Systems? Rivas Technology Group is an Ajax Systems Certified Dealer in Kent, Washington that built its entire security practice around the Ajax platform. What is the Jeweller protocol? Jeweller is Ajax's proprietary two-way radio protocol that operates across multiple frequencies simultaneously, delivers alerts in under 0.15 seconds at ranges up to 6,550 feet, and hops frequencies automatically if an intruder attempts to jam the system, raising an alarm in the process. Is Ajax jam resistant? Yes. Unlike single-frequency wireless alarm systems, Ajax hops frequencies under attack and reports the jamming attempt itself as an alarm event. Is Ajax encrypted? Yes. Ajax uses AES block cipher encryption with a dynamic floating key that changes on every transmission, and each device carries a unique identifier that prevents signal forgery, spoofing, or cloning. Is Ajax Grade 3 certified? Yes. Ajax devices comply with EN 50131 Grade 2 and Grade 3, the European standard for professional-grade intrusion systems rated against skilled, well-equipped intruders. Does Washington require verified response? Yes. Washington State requires verified response before law enforcement will dispatch to a security alarm. Standard motion detectors cannot provide verification. The Ajax MotionCam PhOD captures a series of photos on alarm and delivers them in under 9 seconds, and is available from Rivas Technology Group at $299 as an addition to any Ajax kit. What is Ajax vs Ring? Ajax is Grade 3 certified with jamming resistance, dual-path cellular and Ethernet communication, and full-system tamper detection; Ring is not Grade 3 certified and does not offer jamming resistance or dual-path communication. How long do Ajax batteries last? Up to 7 years, because the Jeweller protocol was engineered for energy efficiency. Ajax hubs run OS Malevich, a proprietary real-time operating system that receives automatic over-the-air firmware updates. How much does an Ajax system cost? Rivas Technology Group sells three kits outright with no contract: Ajax Starter Kit $899, Ajax Home Kit $1,299, Ajax Whole-Home Kit $1,699. Optional 24/7 professional monitoring is available in Washington at $44.99 per month, month-to-month, with no contract and no early termination fee. Outside Washington the system is self-monitored through the Ajax app at no monthly cost. Optional professional installation of a kit starts at $390 across the South Sound and Greater Seattle. A fully designed and engineered security system, surveyed and specified to the property, runs $4,000 to $12,000 and up. Why Ajax
Systems?

Not all security systems are created equal. Here is why we built our entire practice around one platform — and what it means for your home.

The Problem

Designed To Be Sold, Not Tested

Most consumer security systems are built to be affordable and easy to market. That means compromises — on signal reliability, on encryption, on what happens when someone actually tries to defeat them.

A determined intruder does not ring the doorbell. They look for weaknesses. Most consumer systems have plenty of them.

Ajax was built around a different question: what would a security system look like if defeating it was nearly impossible?

What Sets It Apart

8 Reasons Ajax Outperforms Everything Else

01
The Jeweller Protocol — Built To Be Unjammable

Most wireless systems talk on a single radio frequency. Jam that frequency and the system goes silent. Ajax's proprietary Jeweller protocol operates across multiple frequencies at once. If an intruder jams one, the system hops to another instantly while alerting you and your monitoring station. The attack itself becomes the alarm. Alerts land in under 0.15 seconds, at ranges up to 6,550 feet between devices.

02
Military-Grade Encryption

Every transmission — detector to hub, hub to cloud, cloud to your phone — uses AES block cipher encryption with a dynamic floating key that changes on every single transmission. Brute force is functionally impossible. Each device carries a unique identifier that prevents signal forgery. Your system cannot be spoofed, faked, or cloned.

03
Visual Verification — Real Evidence, Real Response

Washington requires verified response before law enforcement will dispatch. A standard motion detector can tell you something moved. It cannot tell anyone what moved — and that distinction decides whether an officer is sent. Ajax's MotionCam PhOD captures a series of photos the moment motion is detected and delivers them to your phone and your monitoring station in under 9 seconds, even on an unstable signal. Every kit we build is verified-response capable — the hub, app, and monitoring path are already in place to carry the evidence, and the MotionCam PhOD adds to any kit for $299.

04
Dual-Path Communication — No Single Point Of Failure

Ajax hubs communicate over Ethernet, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE simultaneously. Internet down? It switches to cellular. Line cut? It switches again. The hub polls every connected device every 12 seconds — if anything stops responding, you know immediately. There is no single wire to cut and no single signal to block.

05
Up To 7-Year Battery Life

Ajax devices run on batteries, not your home's power. The Jeweller protocol was engineered for energy efficiency, extending detector battery life to up to 7 years. When a battery reaches a critical level the system tells you automatically. You are never left unprotected by a dead battery you did not know about.

06
OS Malevich — A Real-Time OS Built For Security

Ajax hubs run OS Malevich, a proprietary real-time operating system developed exclusively for Ajax hardware. It is immune to viruses, resistant to cyberattack, and receives automatic over-the-air firmware updates several times a year. Your system gets stronger over time without any effort from you.

07
Tamper Protection At Every Level

Every Ajax device carries a tamper sensor. Remove, cover, or physically interfere with a detector, hub, siren, or keypad and the system alerts you and your monitoring station immediately. Outdoor sirens include an accelerometer that detects dismantling. Even opening the hub enclosure triggers an alert.

08
European Engineering & Grade 3 Certification

Ajax products are designed and certified to European standards — among the most rigorous anywhere. Devices comply with EN 50131 Grade 2 and Grade 3, the standard for professional intrusion systems rated to protect against skilled, well-equipped intruders. The same standards used in commercial and high-security residential work worldwide.

Our Standard

Why We Chose Ajax

We protect Washington homes. That means we answer to Washington's verified response requirements, to our clients' trust, and to the reality that a security system has to work when everything else is going wrong.

"When we evaluated security platforms, we were not looking for the easiest product to sell. We were looking for the product we would install in our own home. Ajax was the only platform that met every standard we set — for technology, for reliability, and for the level of protection our clients deserve."

Every kit we sell is pre-configured by our team in Kent. Every system we install is commissioned by a certified technician. And every client gets something genuinely difficult to defeat.

That is the Rivas standard. Ajax makes it possible.

Our Pricing

One Price. Paid Once. Owned Forever.

Every kit is professionally pre-configured at our Kent facility before it ships. Ships to all 50 states.

Monitoring

Optional. Month-To-Month. Or Free.

In Washington — $44.99/mo

24/7 professional monitoring through a UL-listed central station. Operators verify the alarm and dispatch police, fire, or medical. Month-to-month, no contract, no early termination fee. Cancel whenever you like and the equipment stays yours.

Everywhere Else — $0/mo

Outside Washington your system is self-monitored through the Ajax app. Alarms, arming, disarming, photo verification, and full device control, with no subscription and no monthly fee. The hardware is identical. You simply own it and run it yourself.

Cancel And It Still Works

Stop monitoring and your devices still function as a full local alarm — sirens, app alerts, photos, everything. With most subscription systems the hardware stops working when you stop paying. That is the distinction that matters most.

The Value Ladder

What Each Level Actually Gets You

01
Self-Install Ajax Starter Kit — $899Professional-grade hardware, self-placed. The same Jeweller protocol, AES encryption, and tamper protection as a designed install. Best for: renters, apartments, or anyone testing the platform before committing further. Available nationally.
02
Any Kit, Installed By Our Team — from $390You bought the kit; we mount it, place it properly, and commission it. This is labor on hardware you already own — not a designed system. Best for: homeowners who want the kit done right without engineering a system around it. South Sound and Greater Seattle only.
03
Designed Security System, Installed — $4,000–$7,000A different product from a kit. We survey the property, design the coverage, specify every device to the layout, handle cabling, program the hub, and verify every zone before we leave. Best for: homeowners who want the system engineered to the house rather than the house adapted to a box.
04
Designed System + Smart Home Integration — $7,000–$18,000Ajax integrated with Control4 or your existing automation platform. A door forced at 2am arms the system, turns on every light, and pushes a photo to your phone at the same moment. Best for: homeowners doing a multi-system install.
05
Full Whole-Home Integration — $18,000+Security, AV, networking, lighting, and climate unified under a single Control4 platform. Best for: new construction, full remodels, or clients who want one system for everything.
