Licensing & Regulatory Compliance

Rivas Technology Group holds a Washington State Electrical Contractor License (RIVASGL799DR) and is licensed, bonded, and insured for low-voltage installation work within the State of Washington.

Products sold through this store are sold nationwide. Sale of equipment does not constitute the provision of licensed contracting services outside Washington State. Customers installing equipment themselves are responsible for compliance with applicable local codes, permitting requirements, homeowner association rules, and alarm registration ordinances in their jurisdiction.

Many municipalities require alarm system registration and may impose fines for false alarms. Registration is the responsibility of the system owner.

Security System Limitations

Systems involving video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, or life-safety devices are intended as deterrents and risk-mitigation tools only. They do not guarantee prevention of theft, damage, injury, or loss.

All installed systems are subject to limitations and may be affected by power outages, network interruptions, cellular failures, environmental conditions, equipment limitations, user error, or lack of maintenance. No system can eliminate all risk.

Rivas Technology Group does not provide emergency response services.

Monitoring & Alarm Dispatch

Where a system is intended to notify emergency services, active professional monitoring is required. Monitoring is provided by third-party UL-listed central stations under separate agreements.

Rivas Technology Group is not responsible for false alarms, failed verification, delayed dispatch, denied response, or any fines, penalties, or municipal charges imposed by authorities.

Washington State requires verified response before law enforcement will dispatch to a security alarm. Verification requires photo-capable detection hardware and an active monitoring agreement. Requirements vary by jurisdiction outside Washington.

Not An Insurer

The customer acknowledges that Rivas Technology Group is not an insurer. Systems and services provided are intended to reduce risk, not eliminate it.

Rivas Technology Group is not liable for any damage, loss, or injury resulting from break-ins, attempted break-ins, fire, flood, or other events, regardless of whether a security or monitoring system purchased from us was in use at the time.

The customer remains solely responsible for maintaining appropriate insurance coverage for their property and possessions. See our Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.
