Ajax NVR HAC — Network Video Recorder with HDMI Output & Built-In VMS
$749.00
Ajax NVR HAC — a network video recorder with HDMI output and a built-in video management system, sold by Rivas Technology Group, an Ajax Systems Certified Dealer shipping nationwide across all 50 United States. Price $749 for the 8-channel model and $1,119 for the 16-channel model. Available in black or white. What is a network video recorder? An NVR is the box that stores footage from IP security cameras and lets you search and play it back. Without one, most cameras only show you live video and keep nothing. What does the Ajax NVR HAC do? It records up to 8 or 16 IP cameras to a hard drive inside your building, and its built-in video management system runs on the device itself — plug a monitor into the HDMI port and a mouse and keyboard into the USB ports and you have a local security station with no computer and no internet connection required. Does it come with a hard drive? No. The NVR HAC has one SATA bay that accepts a 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch drive up to 16TB, and the drive is not included. Without a drive it still works as an integration device for live viewing, but it will not record. How many cameras can it display at once? This is the important part. It records 8 or 16 channels at up to 8MP, but decoding for live view and playback is limited: 1 channel at 8MP, 3 channels at 5MP, 4 channels at 4MP or 1080p, and 8 channels at 720p. If you want many 4K cameras on one screen at once, this recorder will not do it. Does it have PoE ports? No. The Ajax NVR HAC does not power cameras. You need a separate PoE switch, such as the Alta Labs S8-POE, S16-POE, or S24-POE. What cameras work with it? Ajax cameras, and third-party IP cameras using ONVIF Profile S or Profile T, or RTSP. Is it NDAA compliant? Yes. Ajax states the NVR H series is NDAA-compliant with components sourced from manufacturers approved by the U.S. government. Does it work without internet? Yes. After setup, local viewing and recording through the HDMI output continue with no internet connection. Is there a monthly fee? No. The NVR is a one-time purchase and footage is stored on your own drive, in your own building, with no subscription. What is the warranty? Ajax provides a 24-month warranty. Can I return it? Yes. Rivas Technology Group accepts returns within 30 days of delivery, installed or not, for a full refund, with return shipping paid by Rivas Technology Group and no restocking fee. How do I get support? Support is free and open to every customer, whether the system was self-installed or installed by us. Go to rivastechgroup.com/support. Where does it install? Indoors only, IP20, rated 32F to 104F, powered from a 110 to 240V outlet, using up to 24W. Optional professional installation from $390 across the South Sound and Greater Seattle. Network Video Recorder
Your Footage. Your Drive. Your Building.
A network video recorder with a monitor port and the video management system built into the box. No computer. No cloud bill. No asking permission to watch your own cameras.
Most security cameras record nothing on their own. The recorder is the part that gives them a memory — and this one keeps that memory on a drive in your building rather than on somebody's server behind a subscription.
The Ajax NVR HAC takes 8 or 16 IP cameras, Ajax or third-party over ONVIF, and stores them on a single drive up to 16TB. Plug a monitor into the HDMI port, a mouse and keyboard into the USB ports, and the whole video management system runs on the device itself — including when the internet is down.
Features
What It Does
Local
A Security Station, Not A Black BoxHDMI out and two USB ports turn it into a staffed desk — video wall, timeline, archive search — with no laptop and no internet connection required after setup.
Own It
No Monthly AnythingOne purchase. Footage lives on your drive, in your building. Nobody can raise the price of your own recordings.
Verify
The Alarm Points At The CameraWhen an Ajax detector trips, the matching camera feed is highlighted on the video wall automatically — so the question "what actually happened" takes seconds, not a scrub through six hours of footage.
Open
Not Just Ajax CamerasAjax cameras connect themselves. Third-party IP cameras join over ONVIF Profile S/T or RTSP — useful when half the building already has cameras on it.
Export
Footage That Holds UpExported clips carry an Ajax digital signature so the file can be verified as unaltered. Evidence, not just video.
NDAA
NDAA CompliantAjax states every component comes from manufacturers approved by the U.S. government. It matters if you are speccing for a public agency.

Read This Before You Pick A Channel Count
Recording and displaying are two different limits, and only one of them is the number on the box. It will record all 8 or 16 channels at up to 8MP. What it can decode for live view and playback at the same time is smaller:
Simultaneous decode — live view & playback
At 8MP (4K)
1 channel
At 5MP
3 channels
At 4MP / 1080p
4 channels
At 720p
8 channels
In practice that means eight 4K cameras will record beautifully and will not all appear on one screen at 4K. Sub-streams handle the video wall and you pull full resolution on the camera that matters. That is how these are used in the real world — but if you were picturing a wall of eight 4K tiles, this is the recorder telling you the truth up front rather than after the invoice.
Not sure how to size it? That is a design question and we do it for free — call (425) 954-6003 or email sales@rivastechgroup.com. Getting this wrong is expensive; asking is not.
Two Things It Does Not Come With
A drive. One SATA bay, 2.5″ or 3.5″, up to 16TB, not included. Use a surveillance-rated drive — WD Purple or Seagate SkyHawk. A desktop drive will work right up until the week you need it.
A PoE switch. This recorder does not power cameras — it is a recorder, not an injector. Your cameras need power from a PoE switch such as the Alta Labs S8-POE, S16-POE, or S24-POE. Budget for it now, not at the install.
Indoor only, IP20, mains powered. Prefer we spec, rack, and commission the whole thing? Professional installation across the South Sound and Greater Seattle from $390.
30-Day Returns. We Pay The Shipping. Rack it, load a drive, run it for a month. Wrong channel count, wrong fit, wrong call — send it back within 30 days for a full refund, installed or not, no restocking fee. See our Store Policy. Ajax warranty runs 24 months beyond that.
