It displays live system status, supports Night Mode, includes a panic button, and provides audible and visual alarm indication. Does the Ajax KeyPad TouchScreen need a hub? Yes. The KeyPad TouchScreen requires an Ajax Hub such as the Ajax Hub 2 Plus. It is not a standalone product. How does it connect? It communicates with the hub over Ajax's proprietary encrypted Jeweller and Wings radio protocols. Does it have tamper protection? Yes. If anyone attempts to remove or interfere with the keypad, the system alerts you in the Ajax app immediately. Does the keypad reach a central station? Only if you add optional professional monitoring. You Need A Hub
This is a control panel, not a system. It talks to an Ajax Hub — the hub is what actually watches the house and calls for help. If you do not have one yet, start with a kit and the hub comes with it, configured.
The Ajax Whole-Home Kit — $1,699 includes this keypad, a Hub 2 Plus, motion detection, entry protection, fobs, and indoor and outdoor sirens. Buying the pieces separately costs more.
About The Central Station
Out of the box, your system is self-monitored through the Ajax app — alerts come to your phone, free, forever. No central station is involved.
Professional monitoring is optional and separate. One plan, $44.99 a month, month-to-month. It is available to Washington State residents only, and it is arranged by phone or email — it is not sold online.
